Autumn is now truly upon us and we're still in England... waiting and waiting and waiting. But never mind that, today is sunny and glorious beyond words and also bitterly cold. The fields, grass and car got blanketed in frost overnight, which makes for a beautiful, sparkly sight.
I harvested our last veggies this week, and I've started cutting shrubs and rose bushes back, and I imagine the lawn will only need one more mow. I'll miss my mower, yes I will.
Before this cold snap hit us I took some pics of the lovely colours in the garden. I also snapped some spider webs covered in dew drops that transformed them into glittering masterpieces in the morning light. (click on the images to enlarge it)
I also spotted this stunning, rather large critter on the outside wall near the front door and couldn't resist running for the camera. Sadly, a few days later I noticed what was left of it in a spider's web.
Other news is that Alula and Kaya both went in for minor operations this week. Alula had to have general anaesthetic to remove tartar on the side of her mouth where she's missing two teeth. She had a bit of a sore throat afterwards, but she is fine and happy now.
Kaya had a tiny (half the size of my pinky nail) bump on her back which they removed to get it tested. She now has a huge slash and five massive stitches! Just in time for Halloween hahaha. See for yourselves..
Oh well, nothing wrong with a sexy scar, eh?
Other than that, we're healthy and happy and really looking forward to starting our new life on different shores. Before that though we have one last Xmas to celebrate in Blighty. Let's hope it's a white one. (yeah right!)
